Best employee wellness programs in Latin America 2026
Ten employee wellbeing programs in Chile, Mexico and Colombia, compared on the same five criteria. Written by Makana, which is also on the list.

This comparison is written by Makana, which is also on the list. We reviewed ten employee wellbeing programs operating in Chile, Mexico or Colombia, using the same five criteria and only what each one publishes as of October 2026. Makana comes first because it is ours; the rest are in alphabetical order.
What criteria did we use to compare employee wellbeing programs?
Five questions a company can check before signing:
- What it delivers: an app, a health team that visits the company, spaces installed at the workplace, a gym network or online therapy.
- Where it operates in Latin America.
- How it drives usage and what it measures: participation, adoption, absenteeism, and whether there is an independent study.
- What the company sees: aggregated data or data on each person.
- What verifiable recognition it has.
Choosing well matters because the cost of getting it wrong is high: the World Health Organization estimates that depression and anxiety cost 12 billion working days every year. In Chile, according to SUSESO (Chile's Superintendence of Social Security), 52% of occupational disease claims in 2024 were related to mental health.
Which employee wellbeing programs operate in Latin America?
Makana
An integral wellbeing ecosystem with three pillars that companies can hire together or separately: spaces at work (Sala Makana, Makana Corner and Módulo Nano), physical therapists, nutritionists and psychologists who visit teams in Chile, Mexico and Colombia, and an app with five modules (Mental Health, Nutrition, Fitness, Finances and Community) guided by Alma, its AI. It measures participation and progress by team; the company sees only aggregated data. In a study with the UC School of Medicine and ANID (Chile's National Research and Development Agency), people who used Makana at least once a month had 17.5% less absenteeism than a control group. In 2026 it was one of the two Latin American startups that won Mercer Marsh Benefits' MetAImorphosis Start-Up Challenge.
Betterfly
A platform that rewards healthy habits with life insurance whose coverage grows with activity, plus social donations. It currently operates in Chile, Mexico and Spain, after closing five countries in 2025. It was the region's first B Corp unicorn.
Buk
HR software with modules for benefits, insurance and financial wellbeing, in Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru, with more than 9,000 companies. It is a tool for managing benefits, not a health provider.
Cuéntame
Mental health for companies in Mexico: stress and anxiety screening in an app, a personalized plan and communities. It publishes its own results, such as a pilot at a Nestlé plant.
Mindy
Online psychologists and in-house centers in Chile, with a plan for companies that adds online consultations, nutrition and yoga.
Selia
Virtual therapy with psychologists, psychiatrists and nutritionists, founded in Colombia; the company buys session packages and manages them on the platform.
Terapify
Online therapy and mental health content in Mexico, with programs for companies.
TotalPass
Access to gyms and studios from the Smart Fit group, with users in Brazil and Mexico and use in other countries in the region, plus online mental health and nutrition services.
Vitality
A program with an app, wearables and rewards that always comes through a partner insurer, such as Prudential in Brazil and Argentina. Companies cannot hire it directly.
Wellhub
An app with a network of gyms and studios, online mental health and team challenges, in Chile, Mexico, Brazil and Argentina. It publishes its own return study with cohorts in Brazil.
How do you choose a program for your company?
If your people work at a plant, a port or a remote industrial site, look for something that reaches them in person: a health team that comes back on a fixed schedule and a space at the workplace itself. If they work distributed or remotely, an app and a gym network cover more. If mental health is the priority, an online therapy specialist solves access quickly. What separates a program that works from one that fades is activation and measurement: always ask how many people are still using it in the third month, and who measures it.
Frequently asked questions
Why does Makana appear in its own comparison?
Because it is an employee wellbeing program in Latin America, and leaving it out would be less honest than declaring it. We say so in the first line and use the same criteria for everyone.
Where does the data on the other programs come from?
From their own websites and from the press, linked in each case. We do not include prices or any data that is not published.
How often is it updated?
Once a year, and sooner if a program changes countries or services. If you represent one of these programs and something has changed, write to us.
If you want to see how the program would work for your company, with spaces, an on-site team or the app, see how we work with companies.
