Makana wins the 2026 MetAImorphosis Start-Up Challenge by Mercer Marsh Benefits
From a meeting in March to presenting to more than 200 C-level executives at the 2026 Latin America Forum in Miami

One of the two winning startups in Latin America
Makana was selected as one of the two winning Latin American startups of the 2026 MetAImorphosis Start-Up Challenge by Mercer Marsh Benefits. The prize took us to Miami, to present to more than 200 C-level executives from across the region at the 2026 Latin America Forum.
How it started
In March 2026 we had a meeting with the Mercer Marsh Benefits team for LATAM & the Caribbean. After that conversation, MMB's health and digital leaders brought us the MetAImorphosis challenge.
The news
On May 5 the email that confirmed it arrived:
"We are pleased to confirm that Makana has been selected as the WINNER of the MetAImorphosis Start Up Challenge 2026."

The prize included presence and recognition at the forum, visibility with the region's HR and business leaders, and an open door to collaborations and proofs of concept.
The 2026 Latin America Forum
From May 27 to 29, the 2026 Latin America Forum took place at the Hotel Loews Coral Gables, Miami. We were there with our own booth and presented Makana to executives from across the region.
It opened conversations with companies from different industries and markets across LATAM — from insurers to large regional corporations — that all shared the same question: how to move workplace wellbeing beyond traditional insurance.
What Miami changed for us
The conversations with HR leaders and executives from the region that week left us with one clear conviction: the real challenge isn't only wellbeing. It's redesigning work in the face of two forces that are transforming everything: Artificial Intelligence and Longevity.
People teams are facing questions that didn't exist five years ago: How do you care for a workforce that will keep working until 70? How do organizations prepare when AI changes the nature of roles faster than career plans do? What does wellbeing mean when the contract between company and employee is being rewritten?
Those questions are exactly the space where Makana has something concrete to offer.
